Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Gaa is truly deserving of its two Michelin stars. The modern Indian cuisine here is exceptional, brilliantly reimagining local Thai ingredients in ways I’ve never seen before. I was particularly impressed by the use of unique ingredients, such as the finger lime, which added a surprising touch to the dish. Beyond the food, the service was impeccable and the atmosphere was wonderful. Highly recommended for a unique culinary journey!"
"We had lunch today at Gaa, opting for the vegetarian set menu, and overall it was a memorable experience with some important caveats. During course 4 (the main), specifically the first cold “summer curry,” I unfortunately found a hair in the dish. I politely informed our maître d’, who handled the situation with grace—she apologised immediately, sent the dish back, and arranged for a fresh one. Shortly after, members of the kitchen team came to our table personally to apologise and offered a complimentary beverage or a repeat of any course. This level of acknowledgement was appreciated and showed professionalism. That said, given the standards expected at a Michelin-starred restaurant and the premium pricing involved, I did feel the restaurant could have gone further in compensating for the experience—ideally by reimbursing the menu or offering a more meaningful gesture. We were given a box of Indian mithai as compensation, which was kind, but it didn’t quite match expectations for a restaurant recognised by the Michelin Guide. Food-wise: • The appetiser & chakna courses were enjoyable and thoughtfully done. • The mains were a bit underwhelming—the pumpkin dish and summer curry lacked impact. • Desserts, however, were excellent and a highlight of the meal. Overall, I appreciate the team’s politeness and effort to correct the issue, and the restaurant still has wonderful creativity. But at this level, consistency and service recovery should match the reputation. I hope this feedback is taken constructively because there is clearly a lot of talent here, especially under Chef Garima Arora."
"Gaa is on another level. We did the 14-course tasting menu and it was easily one of the most creative meals I’ve ever had. Chef Garima Arora (MasterChef India judge) has built something really special here—the flavors are super unique and totally reinvent what you think Indian food can be. The wine pairings were spot on, and a huge shoutout to the sommelier and the rest of the team. They were incredibly experienced and made the whole night feel seamless without being stuffy. If you want a 2-Michelin-star experience that actually surprises your palate, don't miss this place."
"Amazing experience at Gaa. We had the pre fixed festive menu. They accommodated some specific needs like one person was vegetarian etc. 7 course dinner followed by 4 course desserts. It’s Indian inspired cooking with local takes and ingredients. Very creative and fun menu. The staff were very helpful with wine and cocktail pairings. The chef herself stopped by. The history of the house which was transported from Ayuthaya is also good to ask about. Amazing will recommend."
"This was a great culinary experience! Every item on the menu was an explosion of flavours in a bite, each one different from the other. The service was exceptional and we were provided a personal table while we experienced each of the courses. The standout was the mutton kebab, bhel and saag roti. I just think the paan at the end has room for improvement (having had countless paans from the streets of Delhi). But overall it was a great experience and the chef personally came to our table twice. Highly recommend everyone to do this experience for the refined curated flavours."
"Gaa was a great experience with unique flavors. I was pleasantly surprised with the taste profile from this tasting menu. One thing I thought was interesting was the temperature of the foods. It had a variety of cold and hot dishes. I’ve never had a cold curry before but the Summer curry was a great first try. The choturo and Saag bites were my favorite! You can’t beat this type of presentation and the service was spectacular! If you’re celebrating an occasion and enjoy Indian food with a Thai twist, this is a great spot to try."
"Gaa truly delivers at a two-Michelin-star level. The food is genuinely delicious — and surprisingly satisfying in portion. The wine pairing shows clear thought and intention, complementing the dishes without overpowering them. My favorite dish was the summer curry — beautifully balanced, layered, and memorable. We visited on Lunar New Year’s Eve and the restaurant wasn’t completely full, which made the experience feel even more relaxed and intimate."
"Wow, what an amazing experience at this fabulous restaurant! We haven't been back in Bangkok for almost a decade and this was the first reservation I made as I was very curious to try Garima's food as I'd read so much about it. And it didn't disappoint! We were greeted by very friendly people and were seated in the restored Thai house which was beautiful in a very understated way. They have a set menu consisting of multiple courses of small bites. The food is fundamentally Indian with Thai ingredients in a modern approach! We really enjoyed it! The staff was very friendly and helpful with choosing cocktails etc. I had a yummy passion fruit one as well as one with mezcal and kokum. All in all it was a fabulous experience and I would highly recommend!"
